Gina Mateer is a registered dietitian, licensed dietitian in the state of Texas, and is recognized as a certified eating disorder registered dietitian-supervisor. Gina studied nutritional sciences at the University of Texas and graduated from their Coordinated Program in Dietetics.

After completing the required internship hours and passing the registered dietitian exam in 2010,  she began working at an intensive outpatient program treating eating disorders and providing individual nutrition therapy. She since had the honor to work at the renowned Eating Recovery Center of Austin at the partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient levels of care.

Bringing this experience & passion for helping others into private practice, Gina specializes in working with those who want to heal their relationship with food. Approach: Gina believes in Health at Every Size, uses a non-diet and weight inclusive approach and incorporates intuitive eating into her nutrition therapy. She also see’s the limitations of these frameworks and strives to meet each individual where they are at, and work with everyone from a client centered approach. Gina is aware of the multiple privileges that she holds and continues to learn from her clients’ lived experiences. She believes strongly that eating disorders are a social justice issue.

In addition to nutrition training, Gina has been trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy and has completed NICABM’s advanced master program on the treatment of trauma which allows her to work with clients experiencing co-occurring conditions in an educated and compassionate way. Gina also loves yoga and has completed her RYT 200 and 200 hr meditation training and brings this work into her practice with both clients and other clinicians.

Specialities: Within eating disorders and disordered eating, Gina has a passion for working with those who have experienced trauma, those suffering from co-morbid GI and/or autoimmune disorders, those with DID, those struggling with active purging behaviors and those trying to get pregnant, during pregnancy and postpartum including those struggling with Perinatal mental health concerns.

  • Licensed Dietitian from the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation

  • Certified Eating Disorder Registered Dietitian Supervisor from the International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals

  • Certified Intuitive Eating Counselor

  • RYT 200 from the Yoga Alliance

  • Past President of the Central Texas Eating Disorder Specialists (8 years of board experience)

  • Graduated from The University of Texas Coordinated Program in Dietetics - Bachelor's of Science in Nutrition with Highest Honors
